The way it used to be done. Mike went from novice rider one year to expert the next year after winning the Amateur Championship.

Mike, # 813 at the start of an 8 hour endurance race at Wentzville, Missouri. It was common to have a running start to your motorcycle and have to start it yourself. Mike is seen here running to the bike and then pulling the holeshot with a good run and a good start. Mike Adam teamed up to win the 8 hour race in the lightweight class aboard the Benelli 250 and finish a very respectable 3rd overall against the much bigger bikes in both medium and heavyweight including up to 1000 cc motorcycles.

Bruce Wygal, Walter Nelms and Mike Adam rode to Daytona bike week thru snow and ice in Arkansas and Mississippi to enjoy the races. Walter rode their Laverda 1000, Bruce rode his Ducati 860 and Mike rode his Suzuki 1100.

Reggie Hartsfield on Suzuki GS550 at the drags. On this bike Reggie and our road race team beat Team Hammer’s (Team Suzuki) GS1000 at Texas World Speedway endurance race. Here he puts down a Kawasaki 900.

John Adam on a Yamaha YZ80. This is bike was John’s first 80 ride. This was taken at Swan (Tyler, TX).

Jeff Adam with his Championship GSXR1100. He rode this bike to Birmingham, Alabama to break it in and raced it to win the IDBA Street ET class and post fasted and quickest times aboard it for the race. He continued his winning ways and won Rookie of the Year Honors and the National Championship in the IDBA (International Drag Bike Association) aboard this b bike.

Have you seen this trailer? If you have you have been racing for a long time as it has been retired for about 9 years. We couldn’t bear to part with it though, it’s like it is part of the family. John made his RM 250 really haul at Ponca City Nationals in 1999. He had just had knee surgery and still managed to win 5th place in the stock 250 Pro class. You can see he put the power to the ground in this shot.

John Adam at Lake Whitney National aboard his Suzuki RM250. John also raced his first Four Stroke Pro National at this race and finished 13th overall with both the World Champ Darral King, and 2nd place in the world also participating.

1965 Mike in his Lancer Kart with twin Mac 9s and a few of his trophies. Mike placed third at the 1965 National Championships in the IKF at Broadhead, Wisconsin on this kart. The kart was quite “trick “ for it’s time as it had adjustable frame being able to tighten or loosen each side and make it turn better for left or right hand tracks. Mike was sponsored by Lee & Chris Karts in Chicago. Lee & Chris went on to also become a Suzuki dealer in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Mike’s first Suzuki a 1968 X-5 Invader 200. This was one fine motorcycle, a twin cylinder two stroke and served as daily transportation and later became Jan’s first motorcycle.
